The installation takes various impressions observed in a earthquake region in Italy (Mirandola, San Feliceu a.o., 2012) and reenacts them on the stage of two bar tables. The wood and steel constructions in Italy tried to prevent the cracks in the building to grow further. On the opposite the construction strapped onto the tables in Berlin provokes a crack into a plaster surface connecting the two tables. The manmade vibrations, created by the everyday usage inside the bar context, become the origin for an exemplaric break. A brimfull glas of milk gets spilled and it becomes more and more a personal case of the visitors how to handle the happenings. A spongerag provides a possibility to clear the situation.

Presented inside a menu card, the text "Mantuanischer Riss" by Tobias Roth sets up a link to the original earthquake scenario in Italy.


Die Installation reinszeniert verschiedene, in einem italienischem Erdbebengebiet (Mirandola, San Felice u.a., 2012) vorgefundene Eindrücke auf der Bühne zweier Bartische in Berlin. In Italien waren die Holz- und Stahlkonstruktionen Prothesen um die voranschreitenden Risse in den Gebäuden aufzuhalten. Als Gegenstück dazu provoziert die in Berlin, an den zwei Tischen angebrachte Konstruktion einen Riss in einer Gipsfläche, zwischen den zwei Tischen. Die hier im Barkontext von Menschen verursachten Vibrationen werden nun zur Quelle eines exemplarischen Risses. Ein randvolles Glas Milch wird verschüttet und der Umgang mit den Geschehnissen wird mehr und mehr eine persönliche Angelegenheit der an dem Tisch involvierten Besucher. Ein Schwammtuch bietet eine Möglichkeit die Situation zu klären.

Der in einer Speisekarte präsentierte Text, "Mantuanischer Riss" von Tobias Roth, setzt eine Verbindung zu den originalen Erdbebenszenario in Italien.
