Don't you throw yourself away again? (Wurfpuppe)

Die für eine Sandsackcouch vor dem Eingang der Ausstellung (Wohnapparate - Jetzt | Meisterhäus Muche | Bauhaus Dessau | 13.12.2013 - 13.03.2014) verwendeten Materialien tauchen, im obersten Geschoss vom Meisterhaus Muche, im letzten Raum vor dem verschlossenen Ausgang zur Dachterasse wieder auf. Hier sind die Säcke zu einer ins Jugendalter gewachsenen Wurfpuppe verschnürt.

Die „Wurfpuppen“ entwickelte Alma Siedhoff-Buscher als widerstandsfähiges und zugleich weiches Spielzeug für Kleinkinder. Sie waren bestens zum Werfen aber auch zum zärtlich Umschlossenhalten geeignet: Die biegsamen Bastkörper, die das Grundgerüst der Puppen bilden, können ohne Schaden zu nehmen jede beliebige Position einnehmen und sind teilweise mit Kleidern aus Chenillegarn umhäkelt. Bemalte Holzeier dienen als Köpfe, Holzkugeln als Hände und Füße der Puppen. Die "Wurfpuppen" wurden in drei Varianten hergestellt: Junge, Mädchen und „Negerkind“.

Die hiesige Puppe kann vom Besucher in eine andere Position gelegt, getreten oder geworfen werden. Sie hat sogar schon einen Wurf aus dem dritten Stock des Prellerhauses überlebt.

The "Throw Dolls" were developed by Alma Siedhoff-Buscher as a durable and simultaneously soft toy for small children. They were perfectly suitable for throwing but also for gentle snuggling: The flexible bast fibre body that formed the dolls’ basic foundation could assume any form without breaking and were partially covered with clothes crocheted from chenille yarn. The heads of the dolls were made of painted wooden eggs and wooden balls served as the hands and feet. The "Throw Dolls" were produced in three versions: a boy, a girl and a dark-skinned child.
The „Throw Doll“ in the exhibiton here can be pushed into another position by the visitors. The doll already survived a throw out of the 3rd floor of the Prellerhouse, the former student studio building of the Bauhaus school.
